Yes, the laptop came with 25.10 pre-installed. I did not do a dist-
upgrade or similar although I cannot guarantee whether the laptop did
that automatically upon first boot (given that there are some 24.04
packages installed - or is this "normal"?!)
I tried installing the package you suggested but unfortunately no
change:
