Public bug reported:
Software: Kubuntu 25.04 Live CD Installer (with Calamares 3.3.14)
Description:
When using `ubuntu-bug` on Kubuntu Installer/Live CD to report an
installation/installer issue then `ubuntu-bug` fails with the following error
message:
"ERROR: symptom script /usr/share/apport/symptoms/installation.py did not
determine the affected package" (or installer.py).
`apport calamares` also fails to create a report.
After `apt update` the execution of `apport calamares`, but it is not clear if
that reports the data of the actual Live CD or the latest package from the apt
repository.
Result:
Normal users may fail to report installation/installer bugs.
Even if they update the apt indexe it is still unclear if the correct
information are collected for the error report.
Expectation:
Kubuntu Live CD should support `ubuntu-bug` and `apport` to collect the
information of the actual installer of the live cd and not data from the apt
indexs.
** Affects: calamares (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
