That indeed looks like a WSL bug as we can only provide the terminal
profile template. It's the platform that writes into the final
destination somewhere in the Windows user homedir. I confirm that
symptom when the Windows username contains special characters. Let's
report this behaviour in the microsoft/WSL repo.
