> according to above log, EGL tries to use nouveau. As the nvidia driver blacklists the kernel module, it must be the mesa driver. removing that file prevents the mesa driver from being discovered.
If mesa is being probed, it is because the nvidia driver has already failed: nvidia is always attempted first. Unless for example an application wants to probe all available OpenGL devices. > as reported by "gnome-control-center > System > Info > Details" Ok, that doesn't check gnome-shell; it basically checks which GPUs are available to a GTK client like gnome-control-center itself, and by proxy other Wayland clients. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2117339 Title: [nvidia] software rendering in gnome shell To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/egl-wayland/+bug/2117339/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
