@abdelrahman: Nvidia has already ended support for the 470 driver. This has nothing to do with Nvidia anymore. The question is whether Ubuntu will continue to patch the driver to build with newer HWE kernels (which is possible, since other distros, including Debian, do just that). But Ubuntu does not seem to have much interest in keeping Nvidia legacy drivers patched. It is definitely not a foregone conclusion that Ubuntu will fix this. And again, the precedent from 390 is that they have no problem dropping support for HWE kernels in the middle of the LTS cycle. See bug 2028165 for example of that. Ubuntu suppported 390 on 5.19 HWE and 6.2 HWE, and then stopped when 6.5 HWE was released. They told users to go back to 5.15 kernel.
