Hi @info-tux-pc, You mentioned workaround "1", does not work for you, this is ultimately what I want to roll out to everyone, and I have tested it working myself. Did you just install the test package?
Please note this package is NOT SUPPORTED by Canonical, and is for TESTING PURPOSES ONLY. ONLY Install in a dedicated test environment. Instructions to Install (On a focal, jammy, noble, oracular, plucky system): 1) sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mruffell/sf407276-regression-test 2) sudo apt update 3) sudo apt install cifs-utils 4) sudo apt-cache policy cifs-utils | grep Installed Check for +sf407276v20250531b1 You only need to do the cifs-utils package upgrade and not all my reproducer steps. The reproducer steps are testing notes for me to remember how I set this all up in the future. I'm still trying to get the patch into upstream cifs-utils, but for now, if 6.8.0-62-generic works for you, keep using that.
