It sounds like this issue only happens when booting with dock connected (and monitor/TV pre-connected to dock as well).
When issue happens, don't replug dock, only replug monitor/TV, does it fix the hdmi audio? And could you backup the /lib/firmware/i915 and replace it with the one in the latest linux-firmware (git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/firmware/linux- firmware.git).
