Sadly, I had already reverted my server back to 24.10. However, I was able to reproduce this on a virtual machine within virtualbox.
Steps I did: - install 25.04 server image - sudo apt-get install samba - set up smbd.conf the same way as what I attached. - touch test.txt - restarted smbd - mounted the share on my laptop, then edited that text file. - Segfault occurs and files become unreadable like above. Will attach everything asked and retain the virtual machine if more info is needed. /var/log/dist-upgrade is empty as it is a fresh install. ** Attachment added: "all crash logs in /var/crash" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/2108981/+attachment/5876731/+files/var-crash-logs.tar.gz -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2108981 Title: samba segfaults when modifying any file To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/2108981/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
