Sorry, I think you misunderstand. My comments were aimed at the Ubuntu developer who prepared an update that was not acceptable for the reasons I gave. My involvement was as a reviewer to uphold quality standards within Ubuntu which apply to any change we make in stable Ubuntu releases. This is necessary to ensure that we don't regress users. For example, we must ensure that hg doesn't stop working in 24.04 next week because of a careless change, so there must be a thought out QA plan to ensure that this doesn't happen. This is orthogonal to the data loss bug.
I believe we can still fix the issue - it just needs someone familiar with Ubuntu packaging and process to prepare an update that meets our quality standards. I will ask around for someone to do that. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2070443 Title: SRU: Fix critical regression in Mercurial 6.7.x < 6.7.4 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mercurial/+bug/2070443/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
