ZFS also came to my mind. Why should ZFS be allowed to be compiled INTO the kernel on one hand, and cdrtools not being shipped as a optional software on the other hand?
Also, Debian ships ZFS using DKMS. On that matter, Ubuntu could also provide packages like those (and/or flashplugin-installer) which don't include the software directly, but download them from the original cdrtools site and compile them locally if they really insist on the licence problem. I don't know if there is any, I'm not a judge. Just saying that there is more than only one solution. Maybe this could be considered as well. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/213215 Title: Please include original cdrecord (cdrtools) package in Ubuntu To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linuxmint/+bug/213215/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
