Which open source ATI driver? The pull down menu has Mach 8,32,64,,,, or Radeon? (Both seem to crash and burn when I click the test button) BTW, I have another machine, P3-800 with older Radeon card, (9200?) that worked with feisty, but seems to die just as X is started, and <CTL><ALT><BS> doesn't help. The rescue kernel boots ok - I originally though it was a problem where HAL failed to initialize, now I am past that but still get a blank screen in the non-rescue kernel, so maybe the problem is with X. My xorg.conf for it is posted under bug #144044 since the original source of the upgrade failure seemed to be something else. (Now I am not sure, but it looks like X.
