'safely remove drive' via rightmouse. And it went off then came back!!! More than once! And a rightmouse safely-remove-drive got a message about busy! Waited a few seconds. Another 'safely remove' worked and as soon as the icon on desktop went off I disconnected and all seemed ok. AFAICT.
