I have typed the [sudo apt-add-repository ppa:kamalmostafa/linux-kamal-mjgbacklight ] line in the terminal and then I reloaded my synaptic package manager but then I wasn't sure what to do next. Sorry for being a pain in the neck but could you please be more specific? I typed kamalmostafa and linux-kamal-mjgbacklight on the synaptic search bar but nothing happened, I typed "backlight" and I saw a package called "xbacklight" which I installed but it didn't help either.
