I still think there is a bug, so I updated the description. I also
think the status needs to be changed this to "confirmed". It certainly
doesn't seem to be "fix released" since nothing was changed.

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: cheese
+
+ I see "No device found. Please refer to the help" when I run cheese,
+ but help does not address the issue anywhere that I could see other that
+ hinting about running gstreamer-properties. Searching help for the
+ major symptom ("No device found" banner) yields nothing. There also
+ seems to be no way to run gstreamer-properties from the menus - yet more
+ problems for a novice.
+
+ In my case, I needed to hit fn-f10 to turn the camera, and then it
+ works, but only after exiting cheese and running it again. I figured
+ that out after finding this bug report. We shouldn't require users to
+ have good google-fu.
+
+ Please improve the help to suggest what people might want to look around
+ for in terms of hardware configuration buttons. And fix it so it
+ detects cameras coming online, or at least provide a reconfiguration
+ button or tell the user how to easily get it working.
+
+ ---- original bug description ----

Cheese worked fine in lucid, but in maverick, my webcam is no longer
detected, with errors about /dev/video0 not being found.
