Since the mono build environment was a little more complicated to deal
with I chose to use only prepackages banshee installations. I have
upgraded this system at least twice from  earlier versions of Ubuntu. I
suppose there might be some remnants lying around...

I looked back over the system and couldn't find anything really obvious.
I have included a dpkg -L listing in case there might be something there
that looks obvious.

Let me know what you'd like me to try. I can certainly remove banshee
from the system then look and see if there are any banshee remnants
anywhere. Then try reinstalling if you think that might help.
