Now the annoying sound seems to be gone forever. Unfortunately nothing comes out of the subwoofer anymore. Here are my steps (all are already named here, but I'm summing up)
1) Install linux-backports-modules-alsa-karmic-generic 2) Add "export PULSE_NO_SIMD=1" to /usr/bin/start-pulseaudio-x11 3) Delete /home/USERNAME/.pulse 4) Restart (or killall pulseaudio && PULSE_NO_SIMD=1 pulseaudio) Does anyone know something about the subwoofer problem?
