This time I inserted a disk and tried to open "CD Media" under Places menu with the following message;
Failed to execute child process "sound-juicer" (No such file or directory) Confirmed in Synaptic: Sound-Juicer is NOT installed. I do not believe that it was uninstalled with Rhythmbox as I experienced the same issues while I had Rhythmbox installed, before I switched to Banshee.
