Developers might be busy and working on other issues.

If you think that you can enhance SquirrelMail thread sorting code, please
provide patches for 1.5.1 or cvs HEAD version.

I will make the patch right if I will have time for it.

I had this question:

"I think, that it shoud be a feature request from now on. Is anything that I can help, or You, the developers take care of everything? "

No answer. I dont'want the code NOW, I only want an answer.

Your feature request is specific to limited number of users that don't
maintain their mailboxes.
Not everybody has emails for home use, there are business emails too in the world. For example: I recently have to find emails from one or two years ago. And IMAP is the way to handle my mails.

You have claimed some things about other email
clients that are not true. Outlook Express can't handle big mailboxes. It
starts locking on when number of messages or mailbox size exceeds
allocated memory limits. Biggest still usable OE mailbox that I've seen
contained only 5K messages. Mozilla Mail has 2 GB limit on mail folders
even when file system supports bigger files. ThunderBird has issues
indexing bigger mailboxes.
I'm using the above over 20k mailbox with _no_ performance dropdown in Thunderbird 1.5 with IMAP. I used Mail for Macintosh with the same experience: _no_ performance dropdown. SM is unusable in this mailbox.
