Developers might be busy and working on other issues. If you think that you can enhance SquirrelMail thread sorting code, please provide patches for 1.5.1 or cvs HEAD version. Your feature request is specific to limited number of users that don't maintain their mailboxes. You have claimed some things about other email clients that are not true. Outlook Express can't handle big mailboxes. It starts locking on when number of messages or mailbox size exceeds allocated memory limits. Biggest still usable OE mailbox that I've seen contained only 5K messages. Mozilla Mail has 2 GB limit on mail folders even when file system supports bigger files.
