No problem with the delay. And thank you for the httpd.conf stuff! Since the $_SESSION['username'] seems to be correctly printing out, the only thing I can imagine is that there is a problem in the vlogin config file where there might be a missing comma or a quote not closed correctly or a stray character that is disrupting that setting. Try backing up that file, reopening the sample config file with something like vi (don't edit it remotely, don't cut and paste, blah blah blah) and make just the bare minimum changes necessary for you to log in and try it again. It really should work. Really. It works fine here. ;>
