Binary package hint: bittorrent
Download a single torrent file and attempt to download another. File is

In Edgy the progress bar, that was orange in Dapper, has no color or
distinguishing marks. Can't tell how much of a file was downloaded or
transfered. An easy reproduction of this event would be in synaptic.

I have this too on my Acer Aspire One NB. It is NBR-specific as my
desktop PC is fine.
I thought it was just a teething issue so I wiped my home area and
logged in again. That seemed to fix it but alas it's come back just

lot
Thanks!
Yes, I do have an SSD in my AA1
I put the SuperTalent 32Gb SSD into my AA1 (previously it had the slower
Samsung 8GB SSD in it)
I'll try that workaround then. Thanks again.

I'm not sure this will solve everyone's problem, there's a lot of
potential EMI sources, but certainly worth some further testing.

Public bug reported:
The CPU fan on my laptop no longer spins in 9.10 and 10.04. It works
just fine in 9.04, it works while it's booting, but once the OS takes
over from the BIOS the CPU stops. This becomes a problem when the laptop
overheats and shuts down. I wasn't surprised that it was broken i

So, what is the workaround exactly? (I am just using Netbook Edition 2D
option at login for now)
Thanks.

I didn't explain myself very well. Let me try again:
I have the bug in 3D only.
I am forced to use 2D because of the bug in 3D. I have no bug in 2D.
I would like to use 3D though, as I prefer that layout.
Q. Is there a workaround that I can follow that will allow me to use 3D

get the same issue. :(
I will now try Moritz's extra steps above and see if that helps.
