The bug is easy to trigger (or at least immensely increase the probability of
happening) while or after using memory hungry application.
On the 64bit version with 4GB RAM (and 12GB available swap) running a java
process limited to 3600MB (and taking all of it) is often followed by the need
to rm
At the moment firmware version is 8.24.2.12 (see below), but the kernel
has been recently upgraded to 2.6.31-13 and there was not enough time to
confirm another occurrence of the bug.

I tried 1.8.0 (from PPA) yesterday, it works "better" in the sense, that
it comes back after a few minuted with feedback, that some RSS feed
could not be updated, and after that gets back into 100% CPU
unresponsive state.
I thought, that if I start with a fresh DB and add RSS feeds manually
(why t
I have restored my system from latest backup to get back to 10.04, all files
except /home.
Banshee 1.6.1 from 10.04 works, even with the banshee.db, which have been
touched by 1.7.6.
Please let me know how can I help you further in resolving this bug.

UNABLE TO READ OLD DATABASE AFTER UPGRADE!
Most likely the problem is at import of old banshee.db.
Removing all data from ~/.config/banshee resolves the problem, but there is no
way to import old database.

The "message" is not from banshee but from me :)
It was upgrade from Ubuntu 10.04 to 10.10 (beta?).
I could upload the database, but I do not wan to to make this file public.
I would gladly transfer the file to someone who would use it for debugging of
the problem and not make the file public.
The attached file contains four logs generated as suggested in #4
Banshee was using at least 100% of one CPU at the moment signals were
sent to banshee.
