This is my second 64bit Karmic Alpha installation on this machine.
The problem is that there is no sound.
The audio card is

I had some extra package sources in my system. I removed all unnecessary
sources by using the

Then listed and removed all Firefox versions from this installation

I have now re-installed Firefox 3.0.11 and it works very well. It has none of
the problems that plague my FF 3.5.

I try to use the FUSA (fast-user-switch-applet) to switch to another user name
but it gives me a white screen.
It's a big void, empty, white screen without mouse or anything else on it.

The error occurs when I switch to an already in-logged account. I have 2
accounts "moma" and "test".
It's ok to switch from moma to test (test was not logged in). The error occurs
if I switch back to moma.

I cannot confirm this bug on my Hardy installations anymore. It's been
fixed what I can see.
I testet both
$ sudo /etc/init.d/?dm stop
and
$ sudo init 1
And the shutdown process takes only 5 - 6 seconds which is normal, OK.
Testet both Ubuntu 8.04 32bits and 64bits installations.
I do not know, but I can check it with Ubuntu 8.04 beta installation.

Many people here in Norway (who run Hardy Alpha6) cannot login to their
internet bank or do any other internet transactions because the
Firefox's Java-plugin does not work. The security and login system is
called BankID applet and it requires Sun's Java5/6 (or possibly later)

Ok, I did a patch for the (1) and (2) above. You can apply the patch by running
$ cd /hardinfo-0.4.2.3/arch/linux/x86/
$ patch -p0 < sensors.h.patch

A suggestion.
Hardinfo will show a blank page for the sensors item if the "lm-sensors" pakage
is not installed.
Hardinfo could tell the user to install "lm-sensors" and run the "sensors"
program. However this maybe platform dependent issue.

I have tested the iso's MD5SUM. It is 100% correct iso image. It's not C#
source code.
The "file" command reports correct file type:

The problem disappeared after I restarted Nautilus.
My theory is that Nautilus detected the file type during (or in the very
beginning) of download. I should have pressed F5 to refresh the Nautilus'
display !
