I can confirm this from 7.10 to 8.04, and since both "[ ] Enable
assistive technologies" and "[ ] Allow to turn accessibility features on
and off from the keyboard" options are disabled (unchecked), hotkeys
combos should not turn this feature on at all.

It seems that it is fixed for me.

from what i can tell, if wubi creates the "swap.disk" on a compressed
partition, windows will also compress that file,
and THAT causes (at least to me) all the problems during the main ubuntu install

UPDATE: today I updated to 2.6.24-19 and it seems to work smoothly
(tested also with subsequent cycles of
hibernate/resume/hibernate/resume...)
Just like for Parasyte, the "progress bar" during boot freezes
momentarily (at the same point where it was stopping with previous
kernel) but then goes on
Ok, since this bug is really annoying to me (and I can't help trying to
understand/solve all the small problems I stumble over), I ran some
other test. I hope some skilled programmer would like to investigate
further and fix this.
While I was trying to fix a completely different problem related to
i actually re-installed ubuntu since then and it worked fine and never occured
again...
moreover with the recent release 8.10 i fail to find bugs !!!

I'm on 2.6.28-13-generic, 64 bit Jaunty, a Thinkpad T400, ext3, and

I am just trying to open "Printing" from the System->Administration
menu. It always crashes. I do not have any printer connected to the
system. I do have 2 configured printers which I used to have.

This is fresh install of Ubuntu 10.04 (64 bit) on Intel Core 5 on Intel board.
The installation has not been changed, the X server is running without the
xorg.conf file.
After some time suddenly the Xorg server hangs, mouse and
