kernel panic with hardy fully updated and netgear wg311v2 PCI card as

in attempting to connect to a wireless router, the connection will not
be established (no green dots in network manager) password entry screen

same here... although the lid switch does not work at all in gutsy... kernel
2.6.22. the notebook does suspend just fine using the fn+ key combination.
the display does blank... so i would assume the switch is being polled or
interrupted correctly, but something is happening when it comes to the

I have wondered that in the past, do we even know if this bug has be
read by a developer?
I am not currently having this problem, although i have chosen to sit
with gutsy for a while until this blows over. I am however watching
this bug pretty closely as hardy was supposed to be the b
invader,
With your log file actually referencing a specific block, might you have
a defective block on the hardisk? maybe perform a surface scan? just a
means of reducing noise in the bug report... if your disk scan comes up
clean, you might be onto something.

Every works normally on AC power, after removing from AC power, allowing to
suspend, recovering from suspend, and then rebooting results in an incomplete
reboot... hangs and will not restart. must power down

Edgy 6.10 Hangs always on suspend to ram, and sometimes with shutdown.
graphics screen becomes corrupt and CPU runs away, system is hung; must
be powered down and restarted. i have not tested suspend to disk.
shutdown has exactly the same symptoms but shutdown "music" also g
seems to be entirely related to fglrx driver... shuts down with "radeon"
driver, have not tested suspend, update when available.

There a few cases of penitum M bases machines, sony vaio, asus, and mabe
others, that the SMP kernel causes a CPU run-away problem. Idle CPU
usage of 40% at idle.
The problem was reported in dapper and fixed for a majority of systems,
but this problem exists still for a few, bug fixes have been f
i spoke to ben collins about this (kernel guy), and apparently the i386
kernel in feisty has been upgraded to have uni-processor generic cpu
support, thus virtully the same kernel as the default "generic" kernel
with an expected performace loss of about 1%. I suspect that this
