There a few cases of penitum M bases machines, sony vaio, asus, and mabe
others, that the SMP kernel causes a CPU run-away problem. Idle CPU
usage of 40% at idle.

The problem was reported in dapper and fixed for a majority of systems,
but this problem exists still for a few, bug fixes have been filed to
attempt to open this problem, but haven't seemed to have gained any
traction. If this problem will not be fixed in future "generic"
kernels; seems like a simple fix to offer a 'not on the cd' replacement
kernel.

and again, its just a request.
