I have the exact same issue on Kubuntu jaunty 64. Choossing another output
peripheral than pulseaudio makes resuming songs available.
So I also strongly suspect pulseaudio.

handles for open files become invalid which causes all kinds of problems
for me, including the program in question to crash, or in your case

Martin, I really appreciate your build, but unfortunately it didn't work
for me (Ubuntu 9.04 64-bit + Sansa c240/c250 + Rockbox r21285 + new
bootloader from http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/9955).
I can confirm, though, that installing the libgphoto2,
libgphoto2-port-0, and libmtp from Karmic h
The only workaround that works for me in all cases is to use:
export SDL_AUDIODRIVER="alsa"
export AUDIODEV=hw:0
and then launch every SDL app that needs sound with pasuspender. Ack.

I also have a problem with the Network Settings. I am using a wireless
connection set to WPA. Each time I restart the computer I have to
reenter my Network Password in System - Network Settings. I seems to
reset to some longer unrecognizable password.

I can confirm that installing the Jaunty package (via adding the repo
and pinning all but mit-scheme and libltdl7) works perfectly on my
Intrepid laptop. Because of the versioned dependency on libtldl7, I
think that will need to be SRU'd too.

So I was looking into two workarounds for this.
One is a stub ld-linux.so.5 that gets mad at you and exits. If you just
compile a short program that write()s an error message with gcc -static
-fPIC, it "works" as an interpreter.
The other option, which I think is a little more suitable, is to add
