@Vish: I had a look recently (post beta 2), and saw the changes needed
to be done into metacity. It's more than intrusive and didn't fit for
lucid at this stage of the release. It should be looked for maverick (if
gnome-appeareance-properties is still present as it in GNOME 2.32, which

This is not possible with UNE lucid version. As it will be in GNOME
Shell soon because you have a GNOME and an UNE session. You can kill
your GNOME session manually to get back an editable panel but can't have

Ok, I think I got why you encounter that issue, you should have a glx
issue that make netbook-launcher-efl spawing an error and thus, not
return 0.
There is two solution for that one:
- fake netbook-launcher always returning 0, whatever n-l-efl state is

It seems you are using compiz as the same time as netbook-launcher. This
is not supported as there is a lot of slowdown in a lot of config, can
you try to switch to metacity "the no effect settings" and logout/login
again to say if netbook-launcher is still as slow as it appears?

This is by design and due to some technical issues.
If you choose the Ubuntu Netbook Edition session, the panel is locked.
If you choose the GNOME session (which is new in lucid for UNE), you have your
traditional GNOME session.
LaserJock will provide a documentation for people really wan
BTW, the "no clock issue" will be fixed before alpha3, it's on my radar.

No bug on the gnome project about that AFAIK. Supporting multiple GNOME
session with different user configuration isn't available upstream and
something we did into ubuntu. However, being able to edit the added
session is really tricky in case of GNOME panel and shouldn't land in a
LTS.
That's why
It was like that before. But in lucid, you can have two sessions now,
the GNOME one and the UNE one.
In fact, UNE is basically a GNOME session with some tweaked.
The doc has been done by LaserJock if you don't need your GNOME session, you
can screw it up there:
