Why can't this be solved like with ntp? Don't grey out the "Add" button. When
this button is clicked all three vpn plugins are installed and you can
configure you're vpn.
In the current case users are displayed with a greyed out Add button which
means VPN cannot be configured. When the Add butto
on to cruft remover? Then you can list old log
files and other non system critical cruft within the "normal user mode" and
packages like third party software or other system critical packages/files
within the Expert mode.

Fresh install of Intrepid Ibex with ATI SB4x0 and no sound. I went
through the Debugging Sound Problems page, but could not resolve my
issue. Checked if I was privileged to use audio within Users and Groups
and I can. Below is some information.

I did not plugin a camera, but selected the directory "Pictures" which

which really cannot be removed. If common users use this tool they will

I think that a good long term solution would be that there will be a popup,
when you choose shutdown from the user account, which will indicate that there
is still a guest or other session open. Then there could be an option to close
the running session before shutting down the computer.

With the new package I have the right behaviour (mouse moves out of vm
without Ctrl-Alt), but when moving into the vm and klicking the cursor
jumps to another location in the vm. So I think the registration of
incorrect x,y coordinates is not solved. Although it is better than
before.

I installed the RC again and tried to find out why cruft remover list
these packages. When opening synaptic I saw a lot of packages listed as
"installed localy or obsolete". These were the same as system cleaner
listed. So in a way cruft remover did a good thing, because after
updating my packages

Is this realy still a problem?? I am using Intrepid RC on Vmware
Workstation 5.5.0 and do not have this problem. The mouse releases with
Ctrl-Alt and when I click into the VM it grabs my mouse. This also works
with the livecd, an upgrade from 8.04 to Intrepid RC and with the latest
updates.

Ok, so my issue is resolved. When trying to give my sound a try last
night I managed to fix it. By adding the line options snd-hda-intel
model=acer to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base and restarted. Then I had to
give myself rights to use audio in the Users and Groups configuration
utility.

the synaptics driver. Edge-scrolling, tab on click works. Also the

I have a brand new install of Karmic alpha 3, but my time zone crashes. This
looks like regression, because I did not have this issue on jaunty. The world
map is black with yellow dots and the list with timezones is empty. After
opening that selection list, time-admin crashes.

Hello neu,
Moving away from that directory by creating an empty alternatives
directory did the trick. Dpkg installed succesfully.

Pedro I have reinstalled libndesk, but no results. Maybe I am going to
reinstall Karmic completly, because I get lots of crash-reports about
python-26, nautilus, firefox etc. Maybe my system is a bit out of

I have just installed the latest karmic 64 bits release from today (31-07-09)
and still have this problem. Running Karmic on a Acer Aspire 5051 AWXMi with
dual boot windows xp and karmic koala. After following suggenstions in this bug
report I managed to get my xp installation detected, which wa

I did the following:
1. Start brasero with you're command ( not with the --debug argument,
because it segfaulted right away)
2. Select Burn Image and selected the disk image
3. Insert the empty disc, which is displayed and mounted on the desktop.
Brasero tells me there is no writable cd inse
I don't think so, because my error message states a permission denied at the
error message when creating the image in /var/lib/libvirt/images/.
