Are these the correct commands to extract the DSDT?
sudo cat /proc/acpi/dsdt > DSDT.dat
iasl -d DSDT.dat # disassemble to create DSDT.dsl
Sorry, but I haven't modified the DSDT before, and I really

Thanks so much! I'm so glad that you are willing to help all of us out.
I have a friend that has a HP Pavilion DV6809WM, so I will extract his
DSDT (he's not a Linux guy at all) for him also and post it. I also want
to help to get everyone's DSDT fixed! :)

Same deal here on my mobility radeon, XAA resolves the artifacts and
also make it go much much faster. Correct me if I'm wrong but surely
this is a problem with EXA if activationg XAA corrects all the problems.

Still broken in 9.04 on my NC6000.
acpi=off worked sometimes but sometimes just gave up and of course I lost all
the goodness that came with acpi being on.
The screen turns off correctly during boot though (when the splash screen is
on) and only fails when X has started.

I've had this error ever since I tried Intrepid Ibex. It worked fin in
8.04 though.
As everything says above, the error has came back.
All I have to say it thanks to the developers who are helping to solve
this issue. As being a developer myself, I extremely appreciate it.

The driver fails to detect link status and fails to provide any sort of
connection, I have successfully patched the driver with the link
detection code found in the mandriva sis190.c to no avail. I named my
patched version 1.3(1.2 didn't work either).

This is also a regression for me on my HP NC6000, unlike others above
when the lid is closed/lid button depressed the screen stays on.
7.10 - No joy (may have started working towards the end of the release, I have
a poor memory)
8.04 - Worked from the beginning of the release until the end (best

Michael, I am reading a conflicting message from your last statement:
"the non-longer supported cards"
"We can not fix fglrx itself"
Is this due to ati dropping support for these cards or due to a bug in
the driver, both are implied in your last statement or do we just not
know?

I'm probably going to get frowned upon because this is a question for
the forums but hey ho. The open drivers should have installed
automatically and it is the 'xserver-xorg-video-ati' driver however if
you have already installed the 'xorg-driver-fglrx' package you will need
to 'sudo apt-get remove
