Public bug reported: Binary package hint: update-manager
It may have failed because of customization of the package? I only clicked the report button because it suggested it was the right thing to do. I actuallity, I was already contemplating removing the package because I want to use statically assigned IP addresses in my two host network anyway. Since I can only read email on my Windoze PC and not the Ubuntu system, it is not an easy thing to get all the information below. I was in the process of upgrading to 7.10. It now identifies itself as 7.10 ProblemType: Package Architecture: i386 Date: Wed Jul 30 10:03:19 2008 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 7.10 ErrorMessage: ErrorMessage: SystemError in cache.commit(): E:Sub-process /tmp/tmpb6CWe1/backports/usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1) Package: update-manager 1:0.81.3 PackageArchitecture: all SourcePackage: update-manager Title: package update-manager 1:0.81.3 failed to install/upgrade: ErrorMessage: SystemError in cache.commit(): E:Sub-process /tmp/tmpb6CWe1/backports/usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1) Uname: Linux jeff-g4-ubuntu1 2.6.20-16-generic #2 SMP Fri Aug 31 00:55:27 UTC 2007 i686 GNU/Linux ** Affects: update-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-package -- dhcpd failed to install (actually update) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/253327 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
