I just upgraded to 10.04, and then decided to add this machine to Ubuntu
One. I already have another machine registered. I got this message

Firefox 3.0.14 under Ubuntu 9.04 uses 794.6 MB for a set of 6 tabs. The
exact same six tabs under Firefox 3.5.3 under XP SP3 uses 172.6 MB. Both
systems are fully up to date. I can see why there might be a

The Extensions are different on each installation:
Both have DownThemAll
XP has Microsoft .net; Java Quickstarter, AVG safe search and Adobe DLM
Ubuntu has the Met Office and the Ubuntu extensions
I doubt that these differences could account for 622MB

I noticed that the memory size as reported by system monitor had
increased to 827.5 MB, the only change being the bug reporting tab. So I
closed all tabs except this bug reporting page and the memory usage
reduced to 816.0 MB (a net increase of over 20MB). I did the same on XP

I was comparing the latest release on Ubuntu 9.04 with the latest
release on XP. I am a user, not a developer, and I stay away from
unreleased code normally. I did not realise that your release numbering
was the same on different platforms.

problem of not being able to log off without authorisation (which I
fixed by editing the policy file in /usr/share/...forgot name) . A

Bluetooth working well for a headset on 12.04, not working on 14.04,
either as new install or as upgrade. It pairs normally, but on one
machine (new install) does not appear in sound settings, on the other it
appears but in neither case does it switch sound from speakers to the
headset when on.

I had exactly this problem with blocky playback after I upgraded from
14.04 to 16.04. It affected all movie file types and any player that I
tried. After reading this report I replaced the nvideo driver 361.42 by
the previous version available (340.96) - and the problem went away
completely.

There is another aspect to this minor but irritating bug. Whilst
additional drivers are being searched for, the panel displays the
message "No additional drivers are in use". This should not be displayed
as at this point the software does not know if this is true or not.

log before I posted but it is only now that apport has found it that I
can read it.

the longest file name. If you have a rogue filename then the column can
be off the screen and very hard to correct. When corrected the new
column width does not stick so next time you open the same directory you
