What version of Audacity are you running? 1.3.4-beta has no such issues
for myself.
Please provide a more detailed description of the issue, with as much
detail as possible regarding version numbers of Audacity and also any
flac libraries you have installed.

I would like to point out that an alpha release is not complete and will
contain bugs. Even more so this early in the development.

Martin's proposal is most definitely the most agreeable. It is very
unexpected behavior for the tray to snap shut almost right away.
I can also verify that on occasion the disc will unmount and then
remount without any movement of the tray whatsoever.
