Funny thing is that gltron was working properly and now all of a sudden keys
don't work, go to change keys, quits on trying to configure keys.
Quits a few times trying to configure keys, then works again only keys have now
been reset to defaults.

So I changed the driver back to ati as originally was, added
option "monitor layout" "LVDS,CRT"
and the driver now works... sort of.
the resolution is now something horrible like 600x480 according to screen res
prefs (to me it looks a little bit higher, maybe 800x600. Perhaps
antialiasing?) A
And I am not sure of the reason for safe graphics mode not working. I
will look into that next.

mates comps, I have come to the conclusion that there are 2 separate
bugs here:
People who get a flashing black cursor in the top left (possibly not waiting
long enough for system to load?)

OK. I tried that. (suggestion of removing splash from boot line.) GDM monitor
died, but it did let me get into consoles on the other x-windows, which didn't
work with splash in the line. I checked out the xorg.conf, and it set the
setting under device that normall
Yeah, using this method you can change your display driver for the live
CD to vesa, and then reload gdm, which will run, though somewhat slowly
(IMO). It checked out.
So pretty much at boot screen, you hit f6 or whichever button brings up
custom boot line.

I've not found a mobile X700 that doesn't need a workaround, put I've
only ever dealt with 2 of them.

It might be...
On my machine removing usplash let me get to the consoles, but it still doesn't
transfer back to the x-session correctly.
(I have to relaunch x on returning to the x session window because it only
shows my mouse.)

I have this issue with the touchpad on my netbook.
I really wish touchpad orientation would rotate with the screen. Make
e-book reading so much nicer.
