This is a very werid problem but I will try to explain it as well as I

Installed intrepid (beta) on an Acer Aspire One today. I am getting this
exact problem. PulseAudio does not work when I first log in (but
pulseaudio process is running). I need to kill/restart pulseaudio for it
to work.

Ah looks like I spoke to soon... "I get immediately prompted for my wifi
password. If I type it in really quick while the rest of gnome is still

Hi Christian. IMO, this bug is now fixed. This bug relates to Toshiba
A100-306s, which won't resume from suspend. They now will resume.
Therefore if you are still having suspend problems, you need to file a
separate bug.

Switching to a different router solved the problem with being unable to
connect for me. It's odd because it was only intrepid which couldn't
connect. Hardy and other devices could connect to that router without a

The recent update to correct the OpenSSL/OpenSSH/OpenVPN vulnerability
rebuilds the server keys. However, if EdUbuntu is installed, the keys
should be copied over to the chroot. The chroot image must then be
updated.

I have this issue (8.04). I did not have it in previous releases 7.10, 7.04.
CPU goes very high.
Very noticable with dirs of 1000+ entries.
Affects Rhythmbox, Firefox and Nautilus to a lesser extent.
Please re-open and fix. This is a serious issue.

Regarding the previous post- Perhaps I am writing junk- rereading this bug
suggests that this issue is from way back and probably completely unrelated
to the BSD link I added.
Nevertheless the issue remains on Hardy for me.

Hi there,
I installed the unofficial package and it made no noticeable difference
for me (although I never had the discoloured tty consoles, only the all-
white screen). I've attached my Xorg.0.log. Thanks in advance!

Ah sorry, launchpad puts me on the defensive! I personally think this is
a bug. (To repeat myself somewhat) especially as part of one of the
feature is 'hidden' by default.

When restarting Evo after it had hung (again), I was presented with the
attached dialog box. I found the wording quite confusing, and spent
several seconds trying to decide which button to press. In the end I
guessed.
What I expected to happe
Well if the dialog is really necessary, I would suggest something like
the following:

The original poster notes that this occurs in 'Nautilus, Opera, Firefox
etc.' Whilst it appears fixed for me in Nautilus it still happens in
Evolution and Firefox. Is this a separate issue? Thanks.

Here's a fix:
1) Open the following file as root: /etc/X11/xkb/keycodes/xfree86
2) Find the line = 107
3) Replace it with = 242
4) Find the line = 242
5) Replace it with = 107
6) Save and reboot, delete key will now work.
Tested on Extensa 5620 running Hardy.
