180.44 Nvidia driver.
Shutdown hangs for me with a whitish screen and something making the
laptop get pretty hot when I shutdown using the normal graphical method

were arguing with each other; it went after I deleted all appropriate
references in gconf-editor (even where they were launching nautilus
themselves), and just let compiz do the work.

It happens randomly when switching songs, clicking 'next', usually in
shuffle mode. If I'm trying to replicate it could take only a few or a

The only way I have got tearing to go away is add a section to xorg.conf
