I could not find my Oneiric Beta 1 CD, so I tested the microphone using
a Lucid LiveCD. The microphone does work in the LiveCD. So, I feel that
there is some problem with the driver in my Oneiric install, like the
wrong Amp-In values pointed out above.

I get a green loading bar (instead of the Ubuntu orange) and the
Libreoffice About window displays the message about the missing git
binary (I know that git is not installed on my system). This does not
feel integrated into the system. Unless the change from orange to green

does not close and I can use the Software Center just fine. But the

I have tested the external microphone using the Oneiric Beta 1 LiveCD.
The microphone does not work.
But like I pointed out, in a Lucid LiveCD, the microphone works.
The URL of the alsa-devel mailing list archive mentions a patch. I
cannot find the link to download the patch on that mailing list
Sorry, I do not understand here which files are the patches and which
files need to be patched.
Should I patch buildroot/src/alsa-hda-0.1/snd_hda_intel.c using the
patches from patches-oneiric?

I just used the clear button in the Sync Preferences. It reset my
configuration settings and everything is working now. I think that I may
have deleted the ubuntuone original key. Then, when I had set up
ubuntuone, I forgot to set up tomboy separately.
