Although this is not advisable from a security point of view you can use
swat with the root account if you first give the root account a
password. It is there it just doesn't have a password.
To give the root user a password you do:-

Have just installed 9.04 (32bit) on a Compaq A900 (A975EM) and although
it appears to suspend and resume fine the first time. The second time

Same here on a fresh 15.04 Ubuntu Gnome install.
N.B. this was a 64bit non uefi install.
Same workaround sorted ie install from cli.
Was then able to launch and run their own installer from the dash.
Very strange we have so few indications of this as this is a big deal.
