my experience is that, even if you make the private calendar public
later, evolution still can't deal with it. Somewhere down the line, the
configuration is all messed up - evolution doesn't even display (read)
events anymore. It may work if you start from scratch ... I haven't
tried that yet. So,

I identified the problem and a workaround, but I think the problem
should be investigated more in depth.
I was using Feisty before. For different reasons, I had to make a fresh install.
So I did a complete backup from my /home
Then I installed Feisty.
After installing, I copied .mozilla-thunderbir
This also is a problem for the installer(s).
It is actually a quite serious 'bug'. When a less experience user
installs ubuntu, he selects his language which switches all the UI
components to Dutch. Great, next screen is then the keyboard, which you
just hit a few keys (qwerty works just fine btw)

At first, vesa works for me, but i do not want the vesa driver, because the

Not sure if this relates to this bug or something new, but on a fresh
install of karmic, whenever I open thunderbird, xorg almost grinds to a
halt.
Thunderbird just needs to be open, It be doing absolutely nothing (my
inbox is an IMAP box with IDLE enabled however).
Switching virtual desktops tak
fields are saved for about 10 seconds: when switching to another contact and
back to the recently edited the values are gone.

I've been using my desktop in the english language for years and even
still found 'home' to be a bit off.
I've noticed a lot of people mention personal folder and I must say I
quite like that. Even in our dutch language, it's called "Persoonlijke
Map" which is also personal folder. Whereas we do a
Test result :
- New proposed kernel works fine for me running Karmic on Dell Inspiron 2650.
- Boot is ok. Acpi is working again.

Almost 2010 and still seeing this bug. I'm running Karmic Koala with a
2.6.31-15-generic i386 kernel. I can't change (m)any setting in the
bios, as this is an IBM T42 so an IBM bios with limited options.

The connlimit module in iptables is an excellent defence against Apache
Denial of Service attacks. However, since upgrading to Karmic, iptables
is no longer blocking simultaneous connections when requested for me.
I had previously been using:
iptables -A INPUT -p tcp --syn --dport 80 -m connlimit
I have a similar problem.
I upgraded from karmic to lucid recently.
Before that I could login to my servers with my id_rsa key. Since that
upgrade it is not possible.

Running lucid and I get 100% CPU usage as well. Have version
2.28.3.1-0ubuntu1 installed. Seems to only happen when I go to contacts
address book.

I have the same problem.
Workaround: After every kernel update I must recompile the wireless
driver from compat-wireless with the following modifications in
iwl-4965.c
struct iwl_cfg iwl4965_agn_cfg = {
...
.broken_powersave = true
}
change this to
struct iwl_cfg iwl4965_agn_cfg = {

The default boot process on the very recent acer extensa 5635z does not
display anything after grub. The backlight is on but everything stays black.
The system is karmic with xorg-edgers. The karmic desktop live 64bit daily of
September 5th shows the same behaviour.
