course we could make a script in Amarok to allow the distributions to
fill in their package manager, but this needs awareness from the
packagers over all. If this can be guaranteed, no problem from our side
then.

Toni, you are reporting a bug about a totally different version. Amarok
2.x is a complete rewrite, so not comparable to Amarok 1.4.9 what this
bug is about.
Try un-checking the option "Watch folders for change" in the settings ->
Configure Amarok -> collection menu, this should solve your problem
Micah, I changed from Amarok to Phonon, as Amarok itself doesn't handle
sound at all, but lets Phonon do it.

Did someone mention that this is a Gutsy exclusive problem? I am
currently here at FrosCon in Germany and according to the KDE developers
I talked to Kontact works fine with all other distros. I suggest to
raise the importance of this bug higher than medium. Kontact is the main
