Sorry, this is definitely *not* a problem of Amarok, but of the Gnome sound system, Amarok doesn't even handle sound itself but let's phonon do the work. This works very well in KDE without pulseaudio, using the phonon-xine-backend. It seems that pulseaudio doesn't work well with phonon or vice-versa. Assigning to pulseaudio, could as well be assigned to phonon, but as the user is using Gnome this definitely belongs here.
