NetMannager has no problem identifying or connecting with the network
using a Verizon Aircard V620, but the system freezes after about 2
minutes of use. A hard reboot is required.
I tested my configuration using Gnome-PPP and the card is
No joy. I upgraded to the latest test package, and I'm still getting to
2 minute in freeze. The text of my ppp/peers/wvdial options file
follows with hope that it may bring some insight. This works fine with
gnome-ppp. Pardon my lack of knowledge, but where can I check to see if
the options fil

lcp-echo-failure 0
to my /etc/ppp/options file, and it looks like I'm up and running.

Well actually it kind of sucks at connecting. i usually have to disable
the wireless using the fn hotkey once or twice to get it to finally
connect to a network, otherwise it just eternally tries to connect and
asks for the password over and over in an endless cycle. Definitely a
downgrade compared

The change i made to the output.conf is so my subwoofer on my laptop is
not always on full blast, and actually goes up and down with the volume
by setting master and lfe to ignore, and having the volume buttons just
control pcm, which i have been using this ghetto trick since i started
using jaunty

Hey just to let you know when I use the latest wl driver from the
Broadcom website my laptop as well as my wife's HP laptop that has a
bcm4322 works fine, but without the new driver the wl supplied with
Ubuntu works, but cannot connect to WPA encrypted networks for us.

Ignore my comment about #63131 -- that was a red herring.
I do note that the scanner group was created already for me by the edgy
live install CD, but not the nvram group. Commenting out the nvram
entry in that file prevented the long timeout.
On a tangent: it looks like the "cycles" in timeout
I think the following may be a related symptom.
I notice that the error "/usr/sbin/nscd: option `--invalidate' requires
an argument" appears every time I run "/etc/init.d/nscd restart". I
took a look at the man page for nscd, but could not figure out what kind
of argument it was expecting after t

To reproduce consistently:
- Load my keyboard theme (attached) by copying to .themes/mine/xfwm4/
and choosing the keyboard theme "mine".
- In .config/xfce4/mcs_settings/wmtweaks.xml, change
Xfwm/ToggleWorkspaces to 0.
- (Perhaps) restart XFCE

Binary package hint: mpdscribble
When I recently installed the edgy beta, I noticed that mpdscribble did
not get started automatically at boot time. Adding the following
symlink fixed the problem.
/etc/rc3.d/S31mpdscribble -> /etc/init.d/mpdscribble
** Affects: mpdscribble
I've made an 11.84 package that has this patch. I tried uploading it to
the ubuntu-elisp ppa, but was unsuccessful due to not yet being a member
of the launchpad-beta-testers team. I've applied for the group and am
awaiting approval.

I've uploaded 11.84-0ubuntu1~ppa2 to the ubuntu-elisp ppa. It
incorporates the recent changes in 11.83-7ubuntu1 (which don't have an
effect on this bug, just FYI).

Ubuntu gutsy, and will appear in the 7.10 final release.

The reason this happens is because Debian actually removed the info
files from their package, and Ubuntu synced their bad changes. Marking
this as a duplicate of the bug I filed on this issue.

Additionally, the version of emacs-snapshot in gutsy is based off of
Romain Francoise's packaging, and he keeps the info files.

Revert Debian's removal of
It would be best to file this bug over at Debian. We basically pull
what they have. Let me know if/when you do, and which Debian bug number
the new request has, and I'll add it to this bug for tracking purposes.

I'm not sure what the expectation is for fixes like this. It probably
won't go into updates since it doesn't involve any security fixes, but I
suppose it might qualify for backports. It's extra work to go through
that process though, so I usually don't do it unless someone asks for
it.
