So I grepped $HOME/.local for x-extension-pdf and found a
$HOME/.local/share/mime/application/x-extension-pdf.xml, which I've
deleted. After doing "update-mime-database .local/share/mime/", gvfs-
info reports the right info and the thumbs generate and display

The (first) error message is expected when LIBXCB_ALLOW_SLOPPY_LOCK=1 is

As long as your app isn't crashing, you can safely ignore the error,

Since I didn't report this, I won't close it, but

bug 133239 has been fixed with the latest kernel (2.6.22-10-generic),
since it includes 1.0.0-1k of the iwl4965 driver. Unfortunately, there
is still a core dump, though it's not fatal to the boot. Here's what
dmesg tells me:

The python hack is still needed to get sound to output.

option if you like before pressing "Run")
