Well, Ubuntu doesn't develop Evolution, probably it's better to ask on
the gnome bugzilla.

The best option I've found so far is to get the private ical feed from
each google calendar you want to access locally and add it as a calendar
"On the Web". That way, the events show up in evolution and in the
clock/calendar widget.

This calendar will be read only as far as Evolution is concerned, but
you can sign in to the google calendar web site to make changes and
they'll be reflected locally.
