Indeed, so changing the cups-pdf section in the cupsd AppArmor profile
is the wrong answer. This then points to possible regressions in
AppArmor, on an existing configuration that, until Intrepid, worked out
of the box.

Bug 112248 is not the same bug at all. 112248 is about the fact that
the nm-openvpn plug-in doesn't support configuring even half of the
settings possible in OpenVPN configuration files. Rather, theNM plug-in
only supports configuring a small subset of what OpenVPN istself
supports.

I get the same problem on both of my Intrepid hosts. One is a fresh
install, the other an upgrade from Hardy.

Just to confirm: in my case, there is NO .gtkrc in my home directory,
so the GNOME theme chooser should just work.

I would normally tend to agree that gnome-settings-daemon is most
likely the real cause, since it's already causing problems whenever
returning from sleep/hibernate on my laptop since "upgrading" it to
Intrepid. However, my "always-on" desktop (also on Intrepid)
experiences the same problems too, s
I tried with a new account. As you can see, GTK2 preferences fail to
apply even for the default Human theme: the window frame is blue instead
of caramel.
