Someone pointed out today on IRC that: (16.21.03) wwx: Looks like it might be an A20 issue. (16.21.36) wwx: In the transition from 2.6.22 to 2.6.23, A20 handling was rewritten. (16.24.15) wwx: arch/i386/boot/a20.c appeared in 2.6.23 kernel. Previously this part written in ASM and found elsewhere.
