The only proper fix I can see for this is to have some kind of
preference in something like Network Manager. It would have to be a
user configurable setting because many people take their laptops to
other countries which have different channel options. I guess it could
also be possible to link it
Ah, thanks for this Chris, yes your interpretation of this document
makes sense. The impact of this bug may be lower than I originally
anticipated then.
It may warrant some documentation somewhere (I would certainly
appreciate it when helping fellow Ubuntu users). I would imagine people

My router is on channel 13 (I'm in the UK). My neighbours use most

No, you can't alt-tab or use the gnome-panel or switch workspace. You
can move the cursor and the clock still increments in seconds on the
panel fine.
If it isn't a nautilus issue then I guess its a gvfs issue, I don't know
how to tell though.

I was having the same problem as kiev1 with the custom build.
Because this is such a show stopper bug for me I have resorted to using another
distro for now (Gutsy has compatibility problems with this machine so can't
downgrade).
