This is somewhat similar to my problem. Before downloading Ubuntu 9.04 I
was able to download my hotmail on evolution very well and as soon as I
upgraded to 9.04 I could no longer connect. I get an "Error While
Fetching Mail" message and then when I click on that it tells me I can
not connect to th

install and the ahci/noacpi hack at boot time got it going. I still see the
Softreset... message in the boot log, but there have been no performance
issues running on a RAID 10.

I uninstalled network-manager and network-manager-gnome without editing
my /etc/network/interfaces and now it works fine. I think this must be

I had this problem on a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo computer. I solved the
problem by installing the latest Alsa driver (see instructions at
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HdaIntelSoundHowto). Maybe this is
unnecessary. Then I used cat /proc/asound/card0/codec\#*|grep Codec

This is ridiculous. Moodbar can be used for more than just Amarok. Plus most
people are using Amarok 1.4 from PPA because Amarok 2 is so terrible.

blinking cursor before GRUB loads. Switching the machine to a permenant

mysterious read write activities. I tried to send it to an output file
but because the only way to get it to stop is to sigterm it with the
kill command I was only able to capture what was left in the screen

I was playing with the new Nokia N900 Maemo (debian based), who has some
serious issues with bluetooth at the moment.
So I tried my Ubuntu Karmic Netbook Remix bluetooth with my iTech
BluePro stereo headset. Low and behold Karmic has the same issue

Since the last Calibre Update, calibre no longer recognizes my Kindle Fire HDX
and when I connect thru a USB, calibre no longer syncs, updates my books or
even changes toolbars like it should. A real pain in the "you know". I can't
get to the books I've downloaded onto my Kindle either. What
