Just tried 2.6.29.5 and .6 kernels, both work fine for me, however, not
the default 2.6.28 kernel... So I can also confirm what juhuu said, the
2.6.29 fix the problem.

Now I have run hp-plugin -i and downloaded the firmware form HP.
At the end of the installation the printer made some sounds, but when I print a
page nothing happens.

Just confirming this bug for Ubuntu Jaunty 9.04. Very annoying.
I'd like to have, e.g., "new mail" sounds from Thunderbird, but it only
beeps the PC speaker although something very different is setup in the
Gnome sound prefs. Only thing that helps is to disable "Alert Sounds" in
the sound prefs.
I'm not sure if these aren't two unrelated issues. I can confirm Xoby's
original bug report and 9R's workaround.

Yes, unfortunately it's still an issue. Using KDE 4.0.3 with Ktorrent
3.0.1.
There is a workaround though. If you keep Ktorrent running in the systray, and
configure the scanfolder plugin to watch say /home/user/downloads,
and make sure to save torrent files there instead of "Open with Ktorrent",

After i upgraded my Gutsy box to Hardy i saw that my dvd device that used to be
on /dev/hda was now on /dev/scd0.
And the usually default symlinks /dev/dvd, /dev/dvdrw and /dev/cdrom didn't

With the upgrade to Hardy and a new kernel
my DVD drive moved from pci-:00:04.0-ide-0:0 to

Binary package hint: gdm
I'm helping a friend at work with the upgrade of his laptop, from Feisty
to Gutsy, and after the upgrade the desktop is only 1024x768 (identical
to his laptop screen) - but X detects his external 1280x1024 monitor and
sets up a correct resolution.

If I maximize a window, it only stretches over the 1024x768-part of the
screen. But I can manually resize it to fit the 1280x1024 screen I
actually have.
This is the relevant part of lspci -vv, but I don't think that will help
since X is behaving correctly:

A developer added a comment to the upstream bug, saying that the patch
wasn't effective. Setting status back to new until someone finds out
whether this is fixed or not...

Latex code like this:

will be rendered as:

when using pdflatex to generate pdf from latex source.
I believe that \texttt can't find \verb# in it's context. So, \verb#
won't be parsed and latex will parse the resulting "\
