Update: The package that CyberConan posted above does fix this for

I am using Kubuntu Intrepid (64-bit). I noticed in KDE4, when you delete
descriptions in menu items, the changes aren't always saved.
The easiest way to reproduce this is as follows:
1.) Open up kmenuedit. You can do that by rightclicking the
Logging in and out doesn't seem to make a difference, the problem
happens immediately. (Edit all the icons, and then look at your menu).
There is no pattern that I can find, however even though it happens with
both GTK and QT apps, it happens most often with GTK apps. That may be
just a coincid
I don't recall actual KDE4 apps doing this, but I'm not certain. Off the
top of my head Easytag, XQF Game Server, and several KDevelop icons did
this.
You can see this for yourself by going through my steps. You can back
up your ~/.config/menus/ folder, then you can restore it after your

I forgot to mention, I'm using 64-bit here. With every version of Ubuntu
I've ever tried, I could install zsnes with force-architecture and it
would always run fine. Now in Intrepid, it will either segfault or have
a buffer error.
I'll be happy to test a patched 32-bit package on my 64-bit system.
That's the version I have installed. Still not fixed, same problem.

I installed xserver-xorg-input-joystick and it fixed the problem with

I doubt it, because there isn't a KDE3 version of Intrepid, and Hardy
(which did have a KDE3 and KDE4 version) did not have this problem. ALL
applications are duplicated in kmenuedit, not just the ones that have
KDE3 alternates.

above, I had to install:
kdebase-plasma-kde4
kdeplasmoids
I think kdebase should depend on these. The kdeplasmoids package removes
extragear but that should be okay because I think it replaces it.

When I tried to print, it worked this time. I don't have any clue why, I
didn't change anything except for enabling the debug in cups. I attached
the files anyway.
Lexmark released a driver for the Z600 series, which is the one that
makes my printer work. So the driver is a Linux
With all updates, this is still a problem.

15 minutes my screensaver (default blank screen) activates. When it
does, I cannot leave the screensaver by moving my mouse, I have to use

I am using 64-bit Kubuntu Jaunty on my Gateway M-7315u laptop. My laptop
does not require closed source drivers to function, and has functioned
with every previous Kubuntu release I've tried. I am using the default
Network Manager plasmoid that is added to the plasma panel.
It actually seems to be fine now.
